I was excited to visit Ibarrola Park and chose Hotel El Pescador due to its convenient beachfront location. To my surprise, the hotel also offered concierge services, which made my stay even more comfortable. I particularly enjoyed the on-site bar and the delicious seafood and fresh fish served in the hotel's cafeteria.
Faulty air conditioning; noisy cleaning staff.

Well situated, a few minutes walking from the nice Sante Cristina Beach. We got a nice room with a balcony, where we could sit. There is also a small garden, where you can have a drink or a meal. Although the hotel is located at the road along the coast, with lots of traffic, the rooms are very quite, even if you leave the door to the balcony open. The main reason for this is that the hotel is situated much lower than the road, so the noise is flying over. The staff is extemely friendly and notat all trying to sqeeze the money out of your pocket.
We couldn't mention anything.

Clean, newly decorated hotel, efficiently run. Good size room and bathroom so good value. Had first floor sea facing room with balcony, good view and no noise. Slept very well. Enjoyed breakfasts in agreeable dining room.
very steep drive in/out of garage. Start of walk to beach unattractive. Not especially easy to nip into the City.

Explored the charming town and indulged in delicious seafood. Checked out the 16th-century castle and tried my hand at golf. Enjoyed outdoor adventure and made the most of the hotel's amenities, including the free WiFi and drinks at the bar.
No AC, but hey, who needs air conditioning when you can feel the heat of "some European countries"? *wink*

Very helpful staff and delightful room. The availability of free parking in the basement car park was a huge bonus. We found the location equally good for the seaside and for exploring teh surrounding countryside.

The staff were so helpful and charming. Breakfast and room service were good value. The free parking was a bonus as was the short walk to the beach and several restaurants. Lots to do in the surrounding areas but a car is essential. We visited in June and found everything quiet but we imagine that in July & Aug this would not be the case.

Hotel is located near beautiful beaches, such as Santa Cristina, with a short walk to reach them. The views from the balcony are decent and the rooms are spacious, spotless, and well-furnished. The staff provides excellent room service and the beds are large and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet offers a lovely selection of fresh orange juice, cereals, cakes, and coffee.
Some guests have reported slow check-in and surly staff.

The view from the roaad gives the wrong impression.Once inside its a peaceful retreat with very pleasent views and wonderful staff. The location is far away from the noise but close to the beach and such good value.
The aircon could have been more effective but we wanted the windows open so didn't care.

The hotel's location was fantastic, with a stunning beach just a few minutes' walk away and many good restaurants nearby. The area also offered beautiful scenery and great walking opportunities. It was convenient to reach La Coruna by bus or taxi, making it easy to explore the city. The hotel itself was excellent, with clean rooms and friendly staff. The continental breakfast was reasonably priced and offered a good variety of options.
Not obvious to find.

Friendly staff. Balcony with a nice view to the garden. Cleanliness of the room and hotel in general.
Drive way to the car parking (extremely steep but feasible). Nice but simple breakfast.

Leaving the hotel before the 7 nights ended
The bed was extremely hard making it so uncomfortable you couldn't get a good nights sleep. The shower was inadequate, toilet behind the door and facing the wall made it very cramped to sit down, Air conditioning was none existent you had no choice but to have the window open at all times and then got road noise from passing cars off the main busy road. Parking was tight and in a bigger vehicle we would not have been able to get into the parking area. The breakfast was very poor with not much selection, only allowed one small glass of orange juice per person. Language was an issue as the staff couldn't converse in English. Lift out of order and had to carry heavy bags as no porter

The hotel had a charming and welcoming atmosphere, with a touch of elegance in its decoration. The comfortable seating areas and spacious corridors made it easy for senior people like me to navigate around the hotel without feeling overwhelmed. I especially appreciated the large windows that let in plenty of natural light, creating a warm and inviting ambiance.
The children working at the hotel did not always provide the level of service I expected for a vacation catering to senior people. A little more attentiveness from the staff would have made my stay even more enjoyable.

I had always wanted to visit the Castle of Santa Cruz, so I chose El Pescador for its location by the sea. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel's other amenities, such as the cafeteria and private car park. The on-site bar was also a nice touch, and I loved the seafood and fresh fish in the gastronomy.
Nothing really not to like. The hotel is a smallish family-run property, so if you're expecting corporate facilities, this may not be for you.
